Eat, They Say

(7/15/2020 BS Before Meal 119)

Eat, they tell you, but don't eat that or that, or that over there. Food has become a chore, work, unfun. I have to worry about so many things, but to be honest I usually don't worry about it too much when I'm at home. All I have to eat these days are canned tuna, ramen, and eggs, and I'm so very tired of all three.

It's gotten to where I'll sometimes sleep all day so I don't have to make a decision of what to eat. If I'm sleeping I don't have to choose and I don't hafta eat. I'm such a good diabetic. One of my meds actually makes it really hard to eat anything other than fruit, yay fruit, but boo to food.

I find myself forgetting to eat while I'm working sometimes and it just comes over me all of a sudden. I get sick and shaky and weak. Feel like I'm gonna throw up. A life saver for me at those times is milk. Now, they tell you NOT to drink milk when your sugar is low unless it is skim milk because it takes too long for normal milk to metabolize and get into your blood sugar. BUT! What it IS good for is stopping you from feeling like you are about to vomit. Not for long, mind you, but it's enough time to find something quick to eat before you fall out or upchuck.

Having quick food is super important, I keep protein bars near my comp. Protein helps your BS not to spike, so it's a good one to have foodwise, it doesn't help to raise your blood sugar much, at least mine don't, but they keep me standing till I can find food. Protein and fiber are both super important to your BS, they allow you to eat without BS spikes, which is so very important to not having outrageous BS and hospital visits.

I sometimes wish I didn't have to eat anything at all and would be fine. I would still eat things I liked, but I wouldn't be forced to turn something I used to love into a weary job.
